History Department Head, 2008-current Created and adapted a new curriculum based on the Common Core Standards for Sociology, United States and World History classes using the Boston Archdiocese and Massachusetts State Standards. Ensure that they address each student’s needs, interests, and skill levels, that they encourage the student to define individual goals and accept responsibility for learning, and that they provide a variety of methods for the student to demonstrate performance and accomplishments. Establish and promote high standards and expectations for all students and staff for academic performance and responsibility for behavior. Research and analyze data of student performance, participation and overall satisfaction regarding academics. Studied and made use of Writing Across the Curriculum and cross curricula teaching methods. Co-chaired the accreditation team and rewrote the handbook standards for social studies, student satisfaction and the mission statement. Classroom Teacher- Social Studies, 2008-current Developed and implemented creative and challenging lesson plans for students in grades 9th-11th on a daily basis. Collaborated with other teachers to design a cross-curriculum agenda for 9th grade World History.
