  The Planning Room Coordinator is responsible for the daily supervision of students who have been assigned to the room for any of the following reasons: Student Misbehavior: Students may be assigned time in the planning room for an in-school suspension as a consequence for misbehavior in the school. Students assigned to in-school suspension are expected to complete their academic work, meet... with a guidance counselor, and perform a community service task all under the supervision of the planning room coordinator. Academic Support: Students may be assigned time in the planning room because they need additional time to complete required academic work for another teacher. Standardized Assessments: Students may be assigned to the planning room to complete standardized testing (NWEA, NECAP, SBAC, AP, SAT, ACT, Accuplacer, etc.) for the administration. On some days, as needed, the planning room is closed and the Planning Room Coordinator is asked to act in the role of a substitute teacher for teachers who are absent. On some days, the planning room coordinator is asked to perform any number of office/administrative tasks for either the Main Office or the Guidance Office. The ideal candidate for this position would be someone who is computer literate, caring, and connects well with high-school age students, particularly with those who can sometimes be difficult and need an adult who can be flexible and understanding of their needs. The ideal candidate does not need to be an expert in a particular content area, but they should be knowledgeable enough to assist students to a certain extent in a number of academic areas.
