As Administrative Coordinator I provide direct administrative support to the department chairman. This support includes; making international and domestic travel arrangements, calendar and e-mail management, expense reporting, managing special chair projects, arranging monthly faculty meetings, and organizing all department events occurring both on and off of the Pittsburgh campus. I am responsible for coordinating the travel arrangements and hospitality needs of distinguished lecturers from all over the world and work closely with the CEE visiting committee and Environmental Engineering Visiting Committee. The visiting committees consists of a large group of presidents and CEOs for the leading structural and environmental engineering firms in the city of Pittsburgh. These industry professionals offer advice on our curriculum requirements based on the needs of today’s business climate. For the department faculty; I am responsible for processing all purchase orders, payment requisitions, invoices and faculty expenses. I am responsible for all Research Lab purchases and the appointing and processing of new vendors in the University of Pittsburgh purchasing system as based on the needs of our research labs. I place the advertisements for faculty positions, collect and process those applications and arrange the candidate’s travel itinerary and interview agenda. All of my duties as administrative coordinator require proficient skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, Concur, PowerPoint, PRISM and University of Pittsburgh’s PeopleSoft and Panther Express system as well as the ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities.
