As an RF Test Engineer, Erin was primarily responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and repair of vector network analyzer (VNA) extension systems in the EHF and THF (submillimeter) bands. In addition, Erin tested a variety of waveguide components including multipliers, mixers, detectors, and passive components from 22 GHz to 1.1 THz. Erin collaborated with a small team to oversee the mechanical design, production, qualification testing, and customization of Terahertz transceivers for customers within academia, industry, and government. Daily duties required a high degree of manual dexterity and proficiency with vector network analyzers, multimeters, function and signal generators, and a wide variety of standard laboratory tools. Erin demonstrated superlative testing and troubleshooting abilities, shipping more product per dollar than any other engineer in the company for the first half of 2014. Show less

She worked on a variety of projects at both the Green Bank, WV and Charlottesville, VA sites including: -- The Green Bank Solar Radio Burst monitor, for which she designed, implemented, and installed the back-end receiver system and front-end amplifier module and was responsible for ongoing maintenance. -- The Portable Array to Probe the Epoch of Reionization, for which she served as project manager, head field telescope technician, project draftswoman, budgetary planner, inventory specialist and intern supervisor under the umbrella role of supervising the international deployment of a prototype interferometer in the Outback of Western Australia.
