I have worked with Erik in a variety of settings, and have always been highly impressed by the impact of his work. Erik was in my management team for the RF Power business at Philips Semiconductors, responsible for Operations. He brought a sleepy business to a new level of competitiveness: investing in new technologies, shifting our manufacturing footprint, and building up a new supplier base. The improvements he made positioned the business to ramp quickly during the roll-out of 3G phone systems, and to gain significant market share. I have also turned to Erik as a consultant when making key strategic decisions at NXP and at Dialog. He analyzed the WiMax market for me during a period of market uncertainty, and built a market model that guided our product investment decisions. The model was so robust that the CEO of a key customer also used it to inform his investment strategy. It enabled us to invest wisely during a period of market confusion. When I was preparing to invest in new markets at Dialog, Erik analyzed the wearables market and the emerging trends in sensors for personal networks. He was able to bring structure and clarity to an emerging market with fast-changing technologies, giving us insights that guided our product roadmap and go to market strategy. Erik is analytically sharp, and quickly gets up to speed in new markets and technologies. He is a real leader, a strong communicator, a great team player, and a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend him for entrepreneurial and general management roles, especially in businesses with a strong technology component.
