During my years at DICE I worked with Erik in several different projects and in several different positions. Be it as a programmer or design director, Erik always cares deeply about the player experience but as much for the people he works with. Erik puts his heart in everything he does and is an inspiration to the people around him by following his dreams. When he believes in something he doesn’t give up and is extremely loyal. It’s rare to find such a combination of a creative visionary but with very logical down to earth reasoning. Erik is really one of those unique developers with both strong programming and design senses. At the time we worked together he was a software engineer, and it struck me how much he cared about the overall consumer experience and design. With deep understanding of the end goal, he actually finds new and better ways of reaching it, instead of just executing on the task. Erik is truly passionate about games and deeper understanding of nitty gritty design details than most. Now he's ended up as Lead Designer, which doesn't surprise me at all. I really hope I get to work with Erik again in the future!
