As a member of the Genomics Platform Technology Development team my responsibilities include the following: - Perform alpha testing of products from external vendors to generate data for optimization in a high throughput automated setting - Analyze results to assess feasibility of new technologies for a large scale high throughput laboratory environment - Design and develop new processes and workflows to optimize whole genome, whole exome, and transcriptome library preparation… Show more As a member of the Genomics Platform Technology Development team my responsibilities include the following: - Perform alpha testing of products from external vendors to generate data for optimization in a high throughput automated setting - Analyze results to assess feasibility of new technologies for a large scale high throughput laboratory environment - Design and develop new processes and workflows to optimize whole genome, whole exome, and transcriptome library preparation - Implement small scale, bench top, manual processes into a fully automated high throughput lab - Develop protocols and SOPs for new sample processing workflows - Compile data and author reports summarizing experimental design and results - Audit current protocols run in lab to eliminate waste and inefficiencies - Troubleshoot and problem solve to assist production labs - Assist in maintaining general laboratory functionality, including lab equipment maintenance and overseeing compliance with environmental health and safety requirements - Build scripts to fully automate historically manual protocols - Spearhead development efforts for various products and collaborate with external customers Show less
