Apr 2009 - Dec 2016
I joined the law firm in the spring of 2009 as a part-time runner while I was a student at Tuscaloosa County High School. In addition to performing the runner duties, I assisted the firm’s secretaries in performing their duties, and quickly learned the skills and duties of being a legal secretary. I was promoted into that position in 2010. In July of 2015, I left the office to complete a full time internship. Once the internship was completed, I obtained employment with a boutique. In July 2016, Chris Jones asked if I would be interested in rejoining the firm. I gladly accepted and worked there through December of 2016. I primarily worked on litigation cases, divorces and landlord tenant matters. However, I was cross trained to assist the office manger with accounting of office funds, including accounts payable and accounts receivable. ▪ Drafted court documents, including Complaints, Motions, and Discovery Requests and Responses ▪ Maintained relationships with clients through written correspondence and telephone calls ▪ Organized, managed, and prepared files for hearings, trials, and mediation ▪ Billed clients in Quickbooks Intuit Online Edition and receipted payments ▪ Assisted with accounting of office funds, including accounts payable and accounts receivable Show less
