I have been a leader in the San Francisco restaurant industry since the very early 1990s when I got my first opportunity to lead people from the Alioto family on fisherman's wharf at N. Aliotos (no apostrophe) as the G.M. I have since helped in the growth of a young Pasta Pomodoro by running its flagship/training store location on Union st and training close to 20 managers for the growth of that company. I was also successful as the GM for a quiet giant known as Specialtys cafe and bakery (again, no apostrophe. not my spelling.). I ran their second highest volume location at the Montgomery Bart station, grossing $3 million annually. If you don't know Specialtys, the thing to know is almost EVERYTHING they sell is made from scratch and produced in house, from the mixing of the dough and baking of the bread to the roasting of the turkey. They are famous for their cookies! Along the way I have run and supported other locations for other companies. I find my greatest success comes when I am trusted and allowed to act as an owner and exercise freely within the company guidelines. I have almost always had the largest core of tenured staff as my supporting teams while providing the highest customer service results. I have also remained a food quality and safety leader within the companies i have worked for. I usually find myself myself running either a flagship store or a top grossing location over the years. I love what I do and as a rule, must love those that I do it with. As i tell my employees... "love what you do. If you dont,, you wont do very well and everyone will know it" I LOVE my "job"! Www. Vixisf.com 4.5 star YELP rating. 4.8 stars on google. Loved this place. Was lucky enough to have had an employee following from pasta pomodoro that when they closed, i was able to secure a good handful of their past employees. Www. Revisited this piece of my past to reassure myself that money isnt everything, your team needs to be priority one and everything else will follow and that I will never be nor do I ever care to be manager that leads through fear, intimidation and finger pointing as opposed to being a leader that leads by example and through respect and dignity. Just look at the smiles on their faces...
