Painter
-
Jan 2014 - Sep 2017
Currently a seasonal worker as a painter; I have applied various forms of paint including flat, latex based, oiled based and epoxy to several different surfaces. My task included finishing up to 3 coats on commercial or residential in an adequate amount of time depending on the preferences of the customer. I have mainly spent my time with the paint brush "cutting" the outlines of the surfaces we paint. I am also tasked with sanding, rolling, and even occasionally fixing drywall; always to the specifications of those who have contracted us.

Carpet Cleaning Technician
-
Jun 2013 - Aug 2015
As a carpet cleaning technician, I operated with heavy machinery and tons of heat for many hours at a time. Cleaning anything from college apartments to businesses and/or private housing. Had to lift and move heavy objects such as sofas, beds and mattresses, drawers and shelves along with any other objects you may find in a house. After moving the objects, I have to be able to operate the machine to clean the carpet. Cleaning in even and organized lanes. I identified different stains and what cleaning products to use in different times. I finished with leaving everything as it was or however the owner or employer wanted it

In-Person Assistor (IPA)
-
Apr 2014 - Mar 2015
When the Affordable Care Act came in 2010, it changed many of the things that we once knew about healthcare. Insurance companies could not drop you based on pre-existing conditions, healthcare become more affordable with subsidies and now you could do it in the comfort of your own home. My task as an In-Person Assistor became to facilitate this transition for lower socioeconomic families in the surrounding area, allowing them to access this affordable healthcare. I coordinated events along with pastors, doctors, other navigators and even set up a meeting with the Chamber of Commerce in Woodstock, Va. I mainly worked with the Spanish speaking region of the area, as this was an area of the population that needed assistance the most.
