In the fall of 2014, Eric co-founded Conn Maciel Carey LLP, a boutique law firm focused exclusively on OSHA and labor & employment legal and regulatory issues. Eric Chairs the Firm's OSHA / Workplace Safety Practice Group, where he leads a deep bench of OSHA specialist attorneys providing the full range of occupational safety and health law services to clients across all industries around the country. Eric's OSHA practice has a particular emphasis on: - Advising and representing clients in relation to inspections, investigations and enforcement actions involving the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board (CSB), the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA), the Department of Justice (DOJ), the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), the U.S. Coast Guard, the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), and state and local regulators. - Managing the full range of litigation against OSHA, including appeals of citations, negotiations of settlements geared to minimize the impact of enforcement actions on wrongful death and personal injury civil cases, and trials before the OSH Review Commission. - Representing employers during U.S. Attorney criminal investigations and prosecutions of alleged OSH Act criminal violations. - Advising employers’ other attorneys in civil cases stemming from workplace accidents about the overlapping OSHA regulatory issues. - Counseling clients through catastrophic industrial, construction, and manufacturing workplace accidents, including explosions and chemical releases. - Developing and auditing safety programs and policies. - Providing workplace safety training and compliance counseling for employers. - Co-Chairing CMC's COVID-19 Task Force to help advise employers nationwide on infection control and compliance strategies.

Eric J. Conn established and chaired the Occupational Safety & Health (OSHA) practice group at Epstein Becker & Green, in the firm’s Washington, DC office. Eric handled the full range of OSHA and MSHA litigation, including appeals of citations and negotiating settlement agreements with an eye towards minimizing the impact of agency actions on wrongful death and personal injury civil cases. He also counseled lawyers representing clients in civil litigation arising out of workplace accidents. Eric created and curated the Firm's award-winning “OSHA Law Update” blog, authored multiple chapters in OSH Law Treatises, and was a regular author and speaker on OSHA issues for trade publications and trade associations.
