Selected culturally relevant strategies in the classes, including reading “fotonovelas” and sharing traditional foods, to help participants feel comfortable and engage in the learning process. Designed and administered pre- and post-surveys; results indicated an overall improvement in knowledge and intent to practice preventive health behaviors.
