Over 2 years of experience working in Breeding Services managing various types of projects from the High Barrier room to the isolator floor. Currently supervising and managing the day to day operations of RB20. Perform and train others in animal welfare procedures in the high barrier room RB13 as well as the isolator floor RB20. Proficient in various biomethod procedures such as tail tipping, ear notching, ear tagging, sub mandibular bleeds, cervical dislocation, 2 and 3 week old sampling/IDing, decapitation(pups), Secondary Euthanasia. decapitation, secondary euthanasia thoracotomy. Perform, record and submit genotyping samples to JAX TGS, Transnetyx and the Mouse genotype program. Process results from genotyping submissions accurately and communicate with project management consistently about results. Support and assist all technicians with any issues on mice status, welfare processes, isolator floor procedures and shipping. Communicate and plan work schedules via email with involved employees and management. Review milestone goals with trainees and encourage them to forward their career by seeking training and learning opportunities. Inform staff of sop changes, weekend welfare checks, room status and process changes during daily staff meetings inside the room.
