Taft Ca. Remodeled Taft College dorm rooms: Installing new Fire Alarm conduit, wire and fire alarm devices throughout male and female dorm areas. Installed site lighting (photo-sensor Title 24 California energy efficiency standard compliant) and installed new branch circuitry from existing 50 amp subpanels. Services calls to various work site locations including: Kern County Juvenile Hall Detention Center Foothill High School Bakersfield Ca Bakersfield College Bakersfield Memorial Hospital North Wing Ferguson Plumbing Supply Electrical field service calls duties and responsibilities include traveling to different locations to inspect and repair power supply and power transmission components. Repair, remove and replace or regular maintenance duties began with referring to schematics and performing visual inspections for basic problems, such as loose or damaged wiring. I would have to diagnose electrical issues using troubleshooting practices and tools such as multimeters, tig-tracers and underground cable wands/locators. Show less

800 Megawatt Antelope Valley Solar Project with Sunpower and Mid America Ave A, Rosemond Ca Splicing medium voltage cables, Stripping the XHHW outer-jacket insulation to expose the #12awg concentric neutrals to create the grounding bond, stripping the polymer based insulation to then expose the semi-conductor layer, using a Pat750 pneumatic crimper with appropriate dies to bond the 2-hole lug to the exposed 250 Kcmil aluminum conductor. Then Adjusting the blade on a 1700 Semi-Con Scorer to carefully remove the semi-conductor layer with duck-billed pliers to then install a boot adapter. Wrapping the new adapter with mastic tape and cold-shrink, the last step was to pop the boot(elbow) into the transformer terminal, torque the tightening bolt to the appropriate ft/lbs and continue on to the next termination, all while inside the 600V transformer/inverter skid structure. I would conduct a high-pot test on all medium-voltage cables before terminating to ensure the insulation from manufacture were correctly and safely maintained through transit. Each transformer/inverter skid ran in a series system to finally run parallel into an overhead power line connection, i was part of this process, tying into the overhead power lines and tying into the substation. Mounted 250 Watt solar panels onto tracking-torque tubes. Connected and ran DC whips from solar panels to combiner boxes. Mounted, Supported and safely grounded cable tray for combiner box feeders routing to the inverter skid structures. Terminated DC feeders from Combiner box to inverter. Carport, Roof Top and Fixed-Rack Solar installations, 50 kilowatt to 800 kilowatt systems for Greenfield Union Elementary School District and Delano Union Elementary School District education facilities. This is where i began my technical expertise in the electrical industry. I was introduced to the duties, skills and responsibilities necessary to achieve successful, electrical commercial projects.
