Assistant Non Commissioned Officer in Charge; Troop Medical Clinic. In support of Operation Noble Eagle I served as the Assistant Non Commissioned Officer In Charge of uniformed personnel in the Troop Medical Clinic with all the capabilities of a medical practice. My soft skills abilities played a big role in my duties which included training, scheduling, counseling, general welfare, and guidance because the Army is just like any other work place. My clinic duties included maintaining and responsibility of equipment, registration, patient flow, communication with providers, main hospital, liaising with civilian leadership and the Drill Sergeants along with their superiors for the basic trainee population we served. While serving in this role I consolidated all scheduling of uniformed personnel, nursing and providers and enhanced the scheduling process itself so that it reflected the needs of the changing patient trends and enhanced clarity. Reinstated core competencies for my soldiers (68W/medics) so that they can add to their experience as well as contribute to the effectiveness of clinic operations. Conducted monthly counseling sessions as well as yearly evaluations to assess the soldier’s abilities, skills, and set goals. Enhanced ordering for items labeled critical so that they were always on hand and never running out which could cause a delay in patient care. Coordinated and facilitated communication between providers and personnel for care coordination. Assisted in urgent requests for appointments as well as assisting providers and schedulers in finding appropriate scheduling solutions. Periodically rewrote and added to the SOP where needed to reflect changing trends in the clinic. My soldiers and I were able to identify an undisclosed increase in revenue that had otherwise gone overlooked. This resulted in a positive impact on the revenue stream without impinging on the clinic budget.
