  Leader of an organization of over 800 men and women; responsible for equipping, training, discipline, leader development and morale of the soldiers and their families while preparing the unit for combat. • Rated as the best battalion commander by the Commanding General of Regional Command-South in Afghanistan. • Deployed the battalion to a remote and dangerous area of Afghanistan for nine months where the unit distinguished itself as the best battalion in Southern Afghanistan. Battalion trained and fought valiantly side-by-side with their Afghan partners during multiple large-scale operations against the Taliban. Dramatically improved the Afghan Army professionalism by helping them institute an Operational Readiness Cycle and open an Artillery Center of Excellence for all of southern Afghanistan. • Conducted the first-ever training exercise at Fort Knox, KY incorporating virtual gaming and constructive simulation with high-risk live fire training to simulate the rigors of combat at home station.
