As a Project Archaeologist, I am involved in leading and participating in all phases of archaeological research governed by Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act throughout Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island, including: 1) writing site/excavation reports for distribution to our clients and relevant regulatory bodies 2) conducting non-invasive surveys of archaeological sites using ground penetrating radar (GPR) technology, and incorporating these survey results into Phase I, II, and III investigations 3) working with GIS (ArcGIS) and archaeological database software and incorporating these data into site/excavation reports 4) applying for archaeological permits throughout southern New England, which are designed to comply with federal, state, and local regulatory guidelines. As a regular part of my job I work with clients to ensure that projects are compliant with Section 106, CEPA (Connecticut), MEPA (Massachusetts), ARPA, and Section 4(f). I have also developed and maintained contacts and productive working relationships with archaeologists in academic, governmental, and cultural resource management archaeology throughout New England.
