I am assigned to a school that holds my contract via TemPositions. Even though I am not a certified teacher, l wear many hats as if I were one. Every morning I am in the cafeteria greeting students, making sure they are eating, following the rules, and cleaning up for their teachers to pick them up. Once the cafeteria is clear I assist my assigned grade (it switches every year,) with making sure the student's homework has been checked, preparing material for lessons being taught that day, distributing student's mail and assisting the teachers with whatever else they may need. That can range from bringing a student to the nurse, crafting a document, or simply sitting with a student having a hard time trying to focus. From there I lead back to back periods of recess/lunch. Depending on the weather, recess would be indoors or outdoors. All the same, I made sure the students were all present, enforced the rules of the yard/classroom, interacted with students to get them active and of course trips to the nurse. During lunch, I made sure students got on the line in an organized manner, made sure they all ate, used the restroom and made sure they all cleaned up for the next group. This was all done before their teachers arrived where they got their approval or disapproval on their behavior. A part from those tasks, I work in the "Late Room" where I check-in the students who did not get picked up from the yard at dismissal. I would get their name, classroom, the signature of the parent that eventually did pick them up and the time of said pick-up. I would make sure the students are quietly waiting for their parents, while engaging them by helping them with their homework or just talking about how their day went. Lastly, I did a lot volunteer work for the school such as staying to help for Parent-Teacher Conferences or setting up for after-school events. Show less

    • College Assistant
      • Feb 2012 - Sep 2017

I sign students in and out of the lab, while trouble shooting any issues they have with the technology on campus. I also was dispatched to various locations on campus to either set up tech, dismantle the tech, move the tech, or help professors troubleshoot any issues they had with the computer(s) in a room (i.e. fixing audio, cloning via overhead projector, problems with the internet.) • Camp Counselor
      • Jul 2012 - Aug 2016

I worked with other camp counselors to maintain a fun and safe camp experience. I lead group activities, and taught lessons from the bible. I also arrived early for parents that needed to drop their children off before the official start time; I even did After-Care for the parents who arrived to pick up their children later than the scheduled dismissal time. I would lead a group(s) in a series of activities like arts & crafts, gym games, and just making sure the children had fun in the safest way possible. Show less
