The three-day program involved teaching the participants how to climb and rappel properly, leading them on a climbing trek on real rock in the New River Gorge, leading a zip-line tour through the trees, and facilitating a high ropes course. The program was concluded with a surprise of a 90-foot free hanging rappel. My job consisted of mitigating risk while still making it an unforgettable experience for the scouts.
