I was given the opportunity to work under 2 prominent lawyers, Haniff Khatri and Zainur Zakaria in drafting the written submission on the Federal Court case of Sisters in Islam (SIS) Forum (Malaysia) v Kerajaan Negeri Selangor. The most taxing job on my physique. You had to stand for a total of 12 hours with a 1 hour gap for break. You had to sort thousands of parcels everyday of different size and weight. The pay was RM100 per day the most I had ever had for a daily pay hence why I maintained working as I needed the money to buy a laptop for online classes. The most taxing job on my physique. Worked hard at Pizza hut just to earn a non-dignified wage of RM5 (1.2 USD) per hour. Taught me a lot about working hard and to appreciate the working class. It ignited the fire in me to fight for a dignified and livable minimum wage among the commons. Hopefully we can reach that goal.
