Eugene is somebody everyone loves. When I say everyone I mean it. Eugene's one of the early team members at Opendoor and he's so highly respected at the growing startup. Despite never working on the same team together while I worked at Opendoor, I got to know Eugene very well because he was always actively trying to make Opendoor's culture the best it could be during work and after hours too. Once our paths crossed at some Opendoor related event, we became pretty close colleagues and during my time at Opendoor, Eugene was one of the leaders I consistently looked up to and wanted to be like. Eugene has this unique ability to connect with people on a personal level whether you've been friends for years or you've just met him. That's probably because one of his true passions lies in helping others. Eugene has spearheaded different initiatives at Opendoor, but what most impresses me about Eugene is his desire and willingness to give back to Opendoor, his colleagues and maybe most importantly his community. Eugene's heavily involved with two non-profits that are doing amazing work called Cloud Covered Streets and Paper Clouds Apparel, which help the homeless and those with special needs. I've seen first hand how big Eugene's heart is by going above and beyond to give back to those in need. Eugene's inspired me to want to be like him. Eugene would be more then an asset to your team. Eugene's a leader that cares. He's someone that other people on your team will try and emulate and that's a rare quality.
