I worked in Professor Veronica Augustine's lab, researching electrocatalysis of the oxygen evolution reaction. The application of this work was to increase the efficiency of electrochemical hydrogen production as a form of clean energy. In this role, I was responsible for quality research, lab safety, educating myself to understand the research I was completing, and being able to clearly communicate what I learned. I conducted experimental research in the Francis group under professor Lorraine Francis and Graduate Student Bryce Williams. My research was focused on a zinc oxide nanoparticle thin film fabrication process for the application of solar cells. In this role, I learned how to work independently in an experimental lab setting and how to effectively communicate my results.
