  Project: Paradigm Study (Primary Care Audit of Global Risk Management) Principal Investigator: Dr. Milan Gupta The PARADIGM study is an observational study that assesses the perceptions of Canadian Primary Care Physicians towards global cardiovascular risk assessment in otherwise healthy individuals. It also assesses the role of carotid atherosclerosis assessment (carotid IMT and plaque) as an adjunct to global risk prediction. I helped in the initial enrolment, evaluation and physician assessment of cardiovascular risk and follow up of study subjects on an annual basis to complete a health assessment questionnaire.

  During my internship, I was responsible for taking history, doing physical examinations, reviewing lab analysis, presenting cases, and making decisions about the management of 6-10 patients daily. I also assisted with various surgical procedures that were conducted in the OR, and I performed duties as an on-call intern on the surgical emergency floors, doing complete H&P and admitting patients to the floor.
