I have worked alongside Enrique for over a year and have found him to be a highly capable software engineer. He has a good understanding of C++ and software architecture concepts and effectively applies them to his work. He has high coding standards and can constructively review other developers work with a great eye for detail. He's always a very positive team member, eager to complete work and help others whenever necessary. He has made a fantastic overall contribution to the team.

Working on improving software design and architecture of the current and future Dyson robotic products

    • Software Robotics Engineer
      • Sep 2019 - Nov 2021

After my Graduate Scheme I went back to the role that taught me the most. AI in Robotics. The main products released I worked on are the Dyson Robots: Dyson 360 Eye, Dyson 360 Heurist and more that are on the way. Worked on improving the communication between Low level platform and high level platform for the first 6 months. Then moved to a different team focused on navigation, localisation, motion and planning. Focused on implementing bleeding edge algorithms to make Dyson current and future products Different, Authentic and Pioneering!

    • Graduate Software Development Engineer
      • Sep 2018 - Aug 2019

As part of my Graduate Scheme I did 3 rotations through different parts of the company to gain a broad view on technologies used by Dyson, as well as understanding the differences on working in a variety of environments. Each team dealing with their personal strengths and weaknesses and management, using Agile under the SAFe framework, tailored to each team. I started working on the Dyson 360 Heurist Robot. In specific, on new AI behaviours, as well as implementing messaging platforms between low level and high level platforms. I spent 6 months in that team and I learned a huge amount from highly skilled senior engineers.During that time I also supported two undergraduates get up to speed. Specially a Dyson Institute Student which had never programmed before. The second rotation was focused in Embedded systems. It entailed designing and implementing a new security feature for the Dyson 360 Heurist, in order to achieve a maximum of 2Watts in order to comply with the EU-Regulation when on Standby mode. That was the most challenging rotation, as the team was going through major changes and lacking staff. That made me get more responsibility and help the team as much as I could by learning quickly and start delivering as soon as possible with good quality always as the goal. The third rotation was in Research. On the past I had already worked on App development, especially for my personal projects, but it was good to learn from professionals working on prototypes for Android (Kotlin) and iOS (Swift). This was the most different of the previous rotations, as it was small individual projects based on new technologies that had to be researched, designed, implemented and documented by me. When a project was finished I had to present my solutions to stakeholders and explain whether that was feasible or not, and if it was, why would it be useful for Dyson. Decisions to pass on the work to Delivery teams were based on my work.

Involved in 3 different projects simultaneously within 2 different customers. The role consists on building new functionality for customers while having direct contact with them. Issues with the current system might rise and they must be fixed rapidly, investigated, in order to know the source of the problem and fix it to avoid future occurrences. I also built two new systems using the newest technologies like cloud computing and virtualising the old system, migrating it into a more modern and easy to use environment. I closed a project for Viacom in Amsterdam which has "approximately 700 million global subscribers" going on site to implement the change. I also worked with other big companies in the Broadcasting Industry that I cannot mention because of Disclosure agreement.
