After the events of the covid-19 pandemic, the importance of quality data and data analytics became evident. As a result, the Scottish government looked to develop a roadmap for a community of practice for data standards that would include an integrated data catalogue. This would be used to support public sector to provide information, products and services to support both the government and the citizens of Scotland. As part of the masters degree, I worked in a team with the Scottish government to: - Research and articulate the framework and best practices from the existing literature that will be used to develop the community of practice for data standards. - Interviewed data users in the public to determine the desirable characteristics for building a successful community of practice. - Developed a comprehensive action plan which was later adopted as policy by the Scottish government.
