Principal Economist

Feb 2020 - Jun 2022
My main focus during my time at Ofwat was the overall incentive framework we would apply for the PR24 price review, with a particular focus on business plan incentives. I also led other projects during my time in Ofwat, including: • Designing a new, "collaborative approach" to setting prices and service levels for companies in Wales; • Delivering the final version of the PR14 review, which examined the experience of Ofwat's regulatory regime over AMP6; • Delivering Ofwat's 2020 discussion paper on customer engagement in future price reviews; and, • Providing targeted support to the outcomes analysis team to inform Ofwat's approach to the PR19 CMA appeals.
