It is one of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation’s companies under the supervision of the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources. It is processing as a total of 120,000 Crude Oil BBL / day. *** My units in charge are Crude Distillation Unit (CDU), Vapour Recovery Unit (VRU), Liquefied Petroleum Gases Unit (LPG / LRU), and Flare Unit in the Atmospheric Distillation Complex. Responsibilities: - Designing alternative engineering plans for production and manufacturing that lessen the impact of industry on the environment. - Taking measurements and interpreting data to ensure safety, environmental health, and pollution management; to identify operational hazards; and to coordinate and emergency scenarios. - Making improvements to operational procedures, scheduling and coordinating work to tight deadlines, and ensuring that equipment works to its specification. - Creating and carrying out test procedures, investigating problems, and diagnosing and repairing faults troubleshooting. - Liaising with, and supervising engineering and technical staff. - Assessing, developing, configuring, and optimizing the process and equipment performance and making financial audits. - Making monthly reports and annual suggestions of alternative modification of the process to increase productivity. - Scheduling plant start-up and normal shut down, ensuring plant is operating efficiently, analyzing specifications and controls, ensuring operation of processing units to produce fuel, and producing laboratory recommendations. - Participating in the development of training programs as well as building up the operation team and ensuring their competence for the tasks in the assigned area. Responsibilities: * During Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) Unit Project commissioning period: - Following the generic activities through pre-commissioning and commissioning. - Ensuring that the project construction is properly designed, installed, tested and maintained. - Performing troubleshooting tasks, monitoring progress, performing tests, conducting audits, writing reports, and assisting in financial improvements. * After Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) Unit Project start-up: - Operating and reporting wastewater treatment system including equalization tank, settler, clarifier, hardness removal units, softeners, cartridge filters, and reverse osmosis. - Monitoring and controlling the system pressures, flows, and levels through Honeywell Distributed Control System (DCS) and also monitoring all the dosing chemicals performance. - Ordering the mechanical work and ensuring safe disposal of wastes to save resources. - Finally my responsibility towards the operators is making work smooth for them. *** My unit in charge for 2 months: Off-sites. Responsibilities: - Operating and providing reports through Honeywell Distributed Control System about Boil off Gas (B.O.G) R-22; three compressors cycles, two chillers, three storage tanks of petroleum products and four storage tanks of chilled water, chilled glycol, EDC and VCM in the factory. - Make monthly reports about further production rate increase to make profits to the company.
