      GUROK HOLDING (GUROK TUR. VE MAD. A.S.) is one of the esteemed companies which incorporates well-known brands in tourism and manufacturing industries in the international arena and one of their interests is in the Maldives which long term hired two islands and constructing than operating luxury resorts. Ongoing operating resorts' brand names are Joali Maldives & Joali Being. One of the islands has been completed in 2019 and the second island in 2021. My role in this project was setting up supply chain and shipping activities to feed the construction process and resort ongoing operations. All kinds of construction materials and foodstuff have been sent to construction yards, not only from Turkey but also from several countries to resort and building areas. My main responsibility is collecting goods, deciding transportation modes, and controlling all steps from supplier to the Maldives with buying the best freight option and controlling the cost of transportation. Hence, the first aim is to find a cost-effective and fastest way of sending goods to the Maldives with avoiding any delays or conflicts regarding international shipments and regulations. Most goods have been sent from Turkey via air cargo or seaway containers. Both exporting from Turkey and importing at the Maldives all kinds of construction materials and foodstuff to the Male Port, then sending them to resort sites is our team's responsibility. Achievements: -Logistics Service buying process have been standardised and implemented to find best offers. -Both Airway and Seaway shipping have been used effectively with best freight offers. -Costs of sending goods have decreased with using suitable methods and agreements with shipping companies, - Effective operation procedure has been implemented, - Successfully solved ongoing problems with using right transport methods and correct certifications in terms of especially for perishable goods such as fresh fruits and vegetables, and dangerous chemicals. For yacht marinas, summer seasons are busy and more intense working because of tourism and yacht turnover increase more than winter season,and needed more employee and energy at summer season.
