Emmett is currently employed as a Senior Quantity Surveyor with Aquenta Consulting. He works on various projects across multiple sectors including civil, mining, building, water, defence, industrial, rail, oil & gas. His duties have included but are not limited to: • Developing Cost Plans/Risk Evaluation/Mitigation • Contract Administration • Value Engineering/Value Management • BOQ Production • Financial Forecasting • Variation Assessment/Valuation • Cost Estimating from first principals • Tender Preparation • All services associated with post contract o Assessment and negotiation of variations. o Financial reporting. o Assessment and negotiation of monthly progress claims. o Agreeing final accounts o Attending weekly meetings with the client/ design team and main contractor. o Identifying and solving any issues / potential problems that may affect the project. Emmett has also undertaken several secondment positions to main contractors. Secondments include spells working with Thiess McConnell Dowel JV (Seaford Rail) and Thiess York JV (Goodwood Grade Separation) and Fulton Hogan (Estimating Department) On the Seaford Rail project I was brought in to assist the commercial team with clearing a backlog of subcontractor variations. My duties included assessing the validity of the variations across various trades by using first principals estimating. Once the backlog was cleared I assisted the commercial team with head contract variation submissions and identification of cost savings, back charges and a million dollar insurance claim submission. I engage with project engineers, site management and designers while on site in order to complete the task at hand. After the success of my time on the Seaford Rail project I was asked back to perform similar duties for a Thiess York Joint Venture on the Good Grade Separation Project. Show less

Emmett joined John Sisk & Son Ltd as a Junior Quantity Surveyor on the Whitfield Clinic Hospital, he also worked on the new Dunnes Stores Shopping complex and Abbott Vascular Pharmaceutical Office, Warehouse & Cleanroom extension.
