As a project officer, I am responsible for ; • Animating ten communities and 5 Junior and Senior High Schools on the aims and objectives of SHI program. • Profiling a minimum of 50 farmers interested in the program, ensuring male-female ratio of 3:2. • Preparing and signing of MOUs with school heads and copy the district education heads. • Agreeing on training dates, time and venues with both farmers and students. • Providing hands on training for both farmers and students on improved agricultural practices with emphasis on conservation agriculture. • Conducting training needs analysis to identify and address performance gaps before training. • Organizing at least three field days at the training centre during the major, minor and dry seasons on four demonstrations; Orange Fleshed Sweet Potato (OFSP), Maize-Cowpea intercrop, Maize-Groundnut intercrop, and at least one nutritious crop such as vegetable for at least 50 experienced farmers and 30 students. • Marketing harvested crops to generate revenue to support activities at the centre. • Training at least 10 farmers to keep records of all farming activities. • Labelling of all demonstration plots at the centre. • Preparing poultry structures including cleaning, mending boxes and nests, feeding areas, etc to ensure poultry can thrive. • Stocking poultry strcutures with two different breeds to determine their egg productivity and ability to thrive in the environment. • Ensuring a survival of 90% of birds stocked and marketing of eggs produced to generate income for activities at the center • Linking farmers to funding sources, especially, start-up capitals, input credit and loans and planting for food and jobs. • Reporting monthly, quarterly and annually to the country director and centre manager. • Stocking and catering for all animal production (grasscutter, rabbit, quails, snails and rat).
