Emmanuel was a dream participant and learner in the 2018 Class of Community Based Microfinance for Financial Inclusion. He brought a deep level of understanding of financial sector from Ghana, keenly learned and critically analyzed the experiences and challenges of informal and formal community owned models from around the world, and was among the top of class in his chosen assignment on how as a regulator in the Central Bank of Ghana, more enabling policy framework can be designed for informal VSLAs and SHGs to deepen financial inclusion in the country. He was not only a keen learner throughout 2.5 week intensive program, but also an educator for us all by posing insightful questions and sharing his practical experiences as a regulator/ enabler of financial inclusion. His analysis and synthesis skills, and hi leadership role in the group throughout the program made the learning both insightful and fun. Emmanuel exhibits a deep sense of responsibility for creating financial access and economic opportunities for all in Ghana and I will be keenly watching for him to play a leadership role in that field of work for his country in coming years.
