I was approached by EPMA’s supplier of event software to work for them to assist with the transition from software for physical events to virtual events. As a client account coordinator I organised projects, liaising with clients and supporting webinars and virtual events technically, both in preparation and as they have happened for clients of the company. Whilst I enjoy this role and it has been excellent during lockdown, I would prefer to pursue a full time role with more direct involvement… Show more I was approached by EPMA’s supplier of event software to work for them to assist with the transition from software for physical events to virtual events. I learned so much in my time with the EPMA, as the hub of a very niche industry I became a professional in dealing with situations as they arose and building networks, to make sure I understood and best served those in business and science who are the members of the industry. The EPMA is a European Trade Association that provides networking, training and events for the Powder Metallurgy Industry, including its annual PM Congress and Exhibition. The detailed organisation of the congress was my main responsibility. The Euro PM2019 Congress and Exhibition ran over three days in Maastricht, The Netherlands. The event included over 200 industry presentations, I liaised with each and every presenting author to make sure their presentation and paper publication was set up correctly, building and maintaining relationships with the organisation over years. The event had approximately 1300 attendees, and I assisted with sales, marketing and the registration logistics setup. I have gained experience of large scale event organisation, data management and event organisation processes. I also managed the Young Engineers Event independently, both in advance of the event and onsite, involving being responsible for a budget, and being responsible for an event from marketing stage to feedback stage, and everything in between. This project was small in comparison to my main role, so needed careful management and prioritisation to fit it around my main responsibilities. My role at MediaActive was very varied, I was a representative of MediaActive at events they attended. It was my responsibility to document their activities for the purposes of evidencing funding bids, PR and encouraging investors. I planned workshops and events, liaising with schools, young people, and local arts organisations. Admin and manual setup for a photography exhibition at Theatre Severn, including ordering prints and creating the exhibition programme for the Artist. Exhibition - I initiated, facilitated and administered an exhibition of Sunnyside Arts’ work in the gallery, hosted the opening and kept track of sales of the artwork. I planned and oversaw two craft fairs single handedly, and a Wedding Fair that took place on 7th February 2015, which was a success for the local suppliers and made Wem Town Hall a profit. Day to day marketing - social media, press, on-site point of sale materials. Day to day marketing - social media, press, on-site point of sale materials. Sweet Pea Art and Craft market - The Spring Market was run in conjunction with Wem’s Eckford Sweet Pea Flower Show, to highlight local producers, I sourced and chose the stallholders, and marketed and administered the event. Wem Christmas Fair - liaising with the local community to work together and create a whole-town Christmas event. I was responsible for a craft fair which filled the venue and brought the community together. Weekly market - collecting rents, marketing and developing the market’s offer. Wedding Fair - I built a new event at Wem Town Hall from scratch, as the they needed to advertise the possibility of the building being a wedding venue, this was excellent marketing, brought the community together and turned a profit.
