  Regional scale petroleum geology and geochemical interpretations as part of multidisciplinary Regional Reports. Assessment of source rock quality, distribution and maturity, the identification of oil families and source-oil correlations. Geographical areas that I have covered include, offshore/ onshore West Africa and Sub Equatorial Atlantic, Southern Africa and Argentina. Roles include: -Evaluate basin scale petroleum systems including source presence and source maturity mapping. -Characterise and classify the appropriate source rock/s. -Calculate expulsion efficiency -Determine geological history and stratigraphy of the basin and generate depth history profiles and heating history. -Generate maturity profiles in 1D (Basin Mod and Genesis) HSE Coordinator – NEBOSH National General Certificate, duties include: • Investigating accidents • Conducting regular risk assessments of potential hazards, inspect equipment • Reporting any hazards and near misses • Developing strategies to reduce the number of accidents and near misses • Training staff in health and safety and monitoring the staff training matrix (toolbox talks and staff inductions) • Chairing monthly HSE meetings • Creating action plans on areas of weakness within the company • Audits, reviewing reports and following up recommendations, ensuring actions are closed out by those responsible. • Liaising with outside contractors and managing the company’s safety management systems (Liaising with facilities management) • Management of fire safety, coordinating weekly fire alarm tests and yearly drills, checking fire equipment, signs and exits.   Completion of a basin modelling thesis with Petroleum Systems Ltd. working within the geoscience services team. Analysing the petroleum system of the frontier Mannar Basin off shore Sri Lanka: “Source Rock development and maturation in the Mannar Basin, Sri Lanka: implications for oil and gas exploration” An investigation of source rock geochemical properties was also carried out using literature, regional studies and well data which provided a more detailed analysis of the key source rock intervals. These results were input to the Zetaware's Genesis software used in order to determine expulsion volumes and timing. Show less
