Completion of a basin modelling thesis with Petroleum Systems Ltd. working within the geoscience services team. Analysing the petroleum system of the frontier Mannar Basin off shore Sri Lanka: “Source Rock development and maturation in the Mannar Basin, Sri Lanka: implications for oil and gas exploration” An investigation of source rock geochemical properties was also carried out using literature, regional studies and well data which provided a more detailed analysis of the key source rock intervals. These results were input to the Zetaware's Genesis software used in order to determine expulsion volumes and timing. Show less

I spent two years training in the University Royal Naval Unit, receiving weekly training from the Royal Navy in chartwork, meteorology and wider defence studies. In addition, I received regular sea-based training on a dedicated Royal Navy training vessel, HMS BITER. This involves training in the role of Officer of the Watch, operating the radar and safely navigating the Ship in a busy maritime environment. I gained a number of high-quality transferable skills: • Working under pressure in stressful situations • Delivering results on time under demanding conditions • Leading a team to meet deadlines, often at short notice • Maintaining team morale, living in close quarters • Presenting to large audiences • Communication and networking Show less
