I lead the creation of custom programs that specifically address the needs of the floor that were identify through 1:1 communication, group-base discussions, and over-arching floor themes observed over elongated periods of time. Through this position, I have gained hard skills in mediating conflicts between roommates and suite-mates as well as between entire rooms resulting in effective and efficient mediation and education of the students on the art of compromise. I also conducted nightly rounds of the building to ensure students safety and the enforce building policies. This lead to interjecting and disrupting policy violations as they were happening in accordance to policy and then documenting students who were against policy. A piece of my responsibilities are to attend weekly meetings with the entire Resident Assistant staff as well as bi-weekly 1:1 meetings with Resident Director and bi-weekly 1:1 meetings with the Graduate Residence Director to discuss resident concerns and well-being as well as residential programming needs. I spent much time evaluating each program based on learning outcomes and student feedback via a form that is submitted to the directorship of residence life. I developed business strategies along side the regional management team to acclimate the start-up business into the new environment of Boston. I also implemented programs to support our cleaning staff as well as training initiatives to create a better community for the entire team. My main focus was managing a street marketing team of 20 through scheduling, hands-on training and in-the-field assessment, and troubleshooting problems. With my co-intern, I coordinated events with vendors in both Cambridge and Boston to bring awareness about the company to the prospective clients, while also attending events in the area and handing out information about the company.
