The Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging is focuses on gathering qualitative information on the aging processes. With over 55,000 participants across Canada, the ultimate aim of the CLSA is to find ways to improve the health of Canadians by better understanding the aging process and the factors that shape the way we age. The study takes an integrative approach, examining healthy aging through a number of different lenses. Study investigators will collect a wide range of information about the changing biological, medical, psychological, social, lifestyle and economic aspects of people’s lives. As a research assistant, I conducted maintaining contact interviews over the telephone with up to eight participants per day. I would gather information about their social, physical and mental health, ensuring to conduct interviews in a polite, empathetic and professional manner. I ensured that data was kept confidential and inputed with complete accuracy. Show less
