Schools Coordinator
-
Mar 2017 - Mar 2022
As Schools Coordinator, it is my role to co-ordinate the Education Programme which specifically focuses on heritage and identity of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic young people and children. In order to achieve this, it is essential that our young people are the driving force behind the programme so it is my responsibility to set up regular consultations whether they be face to face or online to ensure I deliver a programme that is reflective of them, their needs and their interests. As part of the role it is important that I develop effective working partnerships with schools to establish clear referral process for young people and develop partnerships with relevant organisations in the public, voluntary and private sectors to develop good practice and new initiatives. I am also responsible for the management and recruitment of external tutors and creatives who deliver and teach our young people relevant skills for them to develop and build upon. As it is a small charity, I am expected to manage my own workload and meet personal deadlines ensuring that all the targets set out by the awarded funder are met and evaluated to a high standard. This includes a final report at the end of each financial year. Show less

I am CELTA trained and obtained this qualification from the University of Gloucestershire in 2015. During my role, I taught mixed levels of English to various ages ranging from 5 and upwards. As well as group classes, I also managed a number of private lesson which took organisation and flexibility.
