Here my role was to support the classroom teacher and other key professionals to care and support students. I also learnt the importance of creating therapeutic milieu. During the last six months working at this school, I undertook responsibilities of a Level 3 Higher Level Teaching Assistant. I used my oral and written communication skills to plan, prepare, and deliver learning activities to students. Furthermore, I had a role in monitoring, recording, and reporting student achievements, progress and development using the schools ‘Evidence for Learning’ technology system, and composing students end of year reports. I worked competently as part of a professional multi-disciplinary team and enjoyed taking on professional and learning development opportunities when they were offered to me. Show less

At the Greyhound, I worked as part of the front of house team. My role involved serving food and drinks, liaising with customers, efficaciously communicating with other staff members, effectively dealing with customer complaints, processing charges, and collecting payments. I worked quickly, under pressure and communicated with a wide range of people whilst maintaining standards of professionalism. At the Greyhound, I worked as part of the front of house team. Revitalise is a national charity providing respite care for disabled people, I cumulatively spent two weeks as a residential volunteer. Each day I was allocated to work 1-on-1 with a resident and my role was of companionship and assistance with basic care needs such as feeding and personal hygiene. I was also responsible for taking guests on excursions around London. Working in such an environment enabled me to develop flexible and interpersonal awareness skills as well as my ability to be compassionate, caring and be imaginative. I also had a role of communicating with resident’s caregivers, medical care teams, permanent members of staff and other volunteers, in order to provide a congenial holiday for residents. Show less
