      I am Head of Teaching & Learning Enhancement for the largest college (11,000 students) at Sheffield Hallam University (prior to internal reorganisation with the title of Faculty Head of Learning, Teaching & Assessment). My role sits at Senior Staff Grade and has strategic responsibility across 7 academic departments in the college for:o Leadership of student experience and ways to develop student belonging and mattering on a wide range of course sizes (incl. large cohorts) and discipline areas;o Teaching innovation & assessment design, including enhancing progression, retention and graduate employability;o Continuous improvement in student representation through close working with the Students’ Union;o Embedding equality, diversity and inclusion discussions looking at teaching and assessment practices effective equality action planning at department level;o Leadership on, and responsibility for, quality enhancement & quality assurance, working closely with central Quality colleagues and departmental Quality leads, and o Leadership on Academic Advising for all students, ensuring consistency in offer at undergraduate and postgraduate levelI am sole staff lead on the following university-wide work (impacting 30,000 students):o Co-design, successful implementation and continuous improvement of formally recognised local student voice forums in all 17 academic departments o Driver of continuous improvement in student representation, working closely with course administrators, course representatives and academicso Listening Rooms project: cross-university project which touches a large number of students (250+), has several work streams (including BAME, LGBT+, disability, Access and Participation). Its aim is to provide authentic and reliable student experience data. It has been adopted in other UK HEIs.
