Emma completed an internship with Cavendish Cancer Care via the SHU grads scheme. She worked professionally and handled a sometimes an extremely sensitive work load with professionalism. Much of the work she did for us was meeting past service users of Cavendish to capture the human face of the support that Cavendish offers. She did this with compassion and understanding, we received great feedback from the clients she met about the manner in which she worked and the sensitivity she showed during her interviews.

PR and Communications Intern with Cavendish Cancer Care. Working to raise awareness through writing 'Cavendish Stories'. My main role was reaching out to those who have been through the centre to share their stories to use on the website and as a fundraising tool. I have had the privilege of meeting and interviewing individuals who have had cancer to write up their stories. The role has allowed me to develop my communications skills both verbal and written as well as work independently. The stories I have written for the charity will be valuable in terms of both fundraising and raising awareness of the work that Cavendish Cancer Care do for local families affected by cancer.
