At first appearance Emma Fairlie is clearly attractive, fashionable, polite and intelligent. After working with her at AOL I also found her incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. She is also disciplined and understands what needs to be accomplished and she does not waste time. She has an uncanny ability to create a positive atmosphere, even when she is critical. AOL has been lucky to have her there and she would be an incredible asset for any company.

I spent a good few years working alongside Emma as 5min was acquired and brought into AOL, and grew from a small startup to a large part of a global company. While I was in R&D and she in Content and Curation, I worked with her regularly: from the start I was impressed by her solid understanding of the entire business and her ability to quickly and neatly dive through all of the trappings and bull of the industry to get to the heart of the issues that faced us. She was rightfully raised to a manager of her area of the company, and built an excellent and efficient team that handled a virtually impossible workload in a cutting-edge environment where the entire market could change overnight. I would recommend her in a heartbeat to any other firm, Internet technology or not, as she has demonstrated to me time and again that she has both the common sense and the intelligence to analyze, learn, and improve upon the methods and processes relevant to whatever situation she finds herself in. Dedicated professionals of such qualities are hard to find.

I ran an English Centre, where kids were encouraged to come, play games and use their English skills in a natural, fun environment. The centre was also open for children wanting help with their homework or just to be within an English speaking environment.
