This job requires the implementation of a strengths-based approach in short-term therapy utilizing Problem-Solving Treatment. The position is modeled as a collaborative approach employing social workers, doctors, and psychiatrists in an integrated behavioral health care system. Psycho-education as well as evidenced based practices such as Behavioral Activation, Motivational Interviewing, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy are the main avenues of treatment. Patient diagnoses vary in severity and chief among those encountered in the therapeutic environment are Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Weekly screens to monitor depressive and anxious symptoms (PHQ-9 and GAD-7 respectively) are utilized. In addition to this, suicidality assessments incorporating the AMSR are conducted when necessary. Weekly case conferencing meetings are conducted to discuss alternative treatment and potential medication management with other facility social workers and a consulting psychiatrist. Referrals to long-term treatment are often also utilized. Show less
