Emma has been helping us creating our booth for tradeshows for few years now. As our main point of contact she manages the whole project and coordinate with the other teams on our behalf and she has been a huge part of our success. She has proven to be quick to find solutions to problems, to always listen to what we are trying to achieve and is super well organised. She is a super star and an absolute pleasure to work with.

My responsibilities as Senior Project Manager were to plan, organise, coordinate and manage the production, logistics and installation of exhibition stands at trade shows across the UK and Europe.I was responsible for the successful outcome of clients’ projects, planned and executed in accordance with immovable (event) deadlines pre-agreed with the customer. Whilst ensuring, that the pre-calculated prescribed budget figure was continuously monitored and adhered to. Everyday tasks include; to plan and allocate labour and logistics resources for each individual project, specify and order materials and resources from nominated suppliers. In addition, I was responsible for the accuracy of the important health and safety documents, and for the presentation and submission of technical stand plans to the event organisers for official signoff and approval to build. Another part of this role was to assist my fellow members of the project management team with advice and making decisions from my in-depth knowledge of the role and our company processes.

As Design Manager I was the first point of contact at Quadrant2Design for advice or information about the modular exhibition stand system ‘Prestige’. Working an internship for the highly renowned Bell Labs team, which sponsored and participated in the BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition 2013 in Dublin, I was responsible for Bell Labs blog (available to 70,000 employees worldwide) and social media activity over the course of the 3 day event. In addition, I aided the logistics of managing the stand which attracted more than 1,500 students each day. I have gained much from my contribution including an insight into the operations of organising an event from a sponsor’s perspective and the layers of planning involved coordinating an event for a large global corporation. Another level of personal development gained from the experience was the value of social media platforms for different functions in events.

During my time at Incisive Media I gained valuable experience of working within an events team who produce over 600 events a year across 16 key markets. Working amongst the operations team I assisted in the planning and execution of various physical events including exhibitions, conferences, dinners, briefings and a training course. Specific responsibilities for these events included: Producing exhibitor technical manuals; Liaising with exhibitors and contractors; Producing on site timings schedule and staffing schedule; Raising purchase orders; Venue Finding; Running the organisers front office or registration desk; Involvement in creating signage, furniture and feature schedules, table plans and menus. For the second half of my placement I took on the task of managing the vast majority of Incisive Media’s webinar portfolio. On a day to day basis this role included: Leading the teams and advising them on what was achievable; Communicating between teams and the studio; Helping to manage the studios diary; Building the registration page and console through on24: Managing the client’s expectations; Arranging speaker transportation; Monitoring and responding to attendee queries when live. These were responsibilities which had not previously existed in one role which meant learning on the job; subsequently I composed an On24 webinar guide for the following intern comprising both a generic tutorial and company standard as well as specific requirements for each brand.
