Cashier/Retail Associate

After a leave to pursue other opportunities, my retail manager happily hired me back to join her team. Each shift I work to promote sales, organize product, stock displays, and ensure guest satisfaction. I am known for my leadership and was chosen by our managers to train in Las Vegas on the new POS Max system. I then came back and trained every retail associate before roll-out and guided the team to familiarity with the new system. It was an amazing opportunity and I was also one of a few retail associates chosen to work on the front lines during the pandemic. Show less

Cashier Skill Trainer and Retail Employee
-
Aug 2014 - Aug 2016
In the two years I worked at Cracker Barrel I was promoted from a rising star to a four star, cashier skill trainer. I was also selected to work in retail. The monthly retail meetings were enjoyable as the team learned to best serve our guests. Training cashiers and talking with guests were my favorite aspects of this position. I also helped guests with their shopping experiences, wrapped gifts, practiced loss prevention strategies, inventoried the store both years, and inventoried the weekly retail truck several times. The positive team environment and family feel of the store made this position difficult to leave to pursue a vocation to the Dominican Sisters. Show less

Crew Member promoted to Shift Manager
-
Jul 2012 - Jun 2013
After working just three months as a crew member, my store manager encouraged me to become a shift manager. I excitedly accepted this opportunity and began training. I was certified in food safety, took a four month class on management, was certified as a manager after graduating from a three day course called Introduction to Management, and was verified by a higher up manager who observed me running a shift. My crew earned a zero on a mystery shop during a shift I was running; a zero is the highest score and denotes excellent service in several areas. Skills included: • joyfully served customers • took accurate customer orders • proactively cleaned when time allowed • made correct change • handled customer complaints and recovery • multi-tasked throughout shift • prepared crew floor plan/positioning for each shift • delegated tasks to employees • oversaw shifts • tested food safety • took inventory at the end of overnight shifts • maintained store cleanliness • counted cash drawers and cash safe • kept up crew morale • oversaw crew training Show less

Food Service Employee

Sep 2010 - Dec 2012
My first season at the farm I was working in the main kitchen. Because of my trustworthiness, accuracy counting change, and friendliness, I was often put on the cash register taking orders. My second season I was given more responsibilities and helped open the kitchen. I was also asked to work at their tree farm in the winter where my position was "floater". This meant that I took over for crew members throughout the day while they went on break. The floater has to be familiar with multiple areas of the business and be able to work on other employee's cash drawers. Skills included: • prepared food • meet food safety criteria • cleaned at the end of the day • counted correct change • took accurate customer orders • trained other crew members • oversaw donut preparation • counted cash drawer at the end of the day • customer service Show less
