From my time studying with Emma, I found her to be a fantastic student. Always putting herself forward for everything. She juggles a part time job whilst achieving excellent grades at university. She is a team player and has a great personality. Emma can bring together a team and put a smile on everyone's face. Great person and a brilliant student.

I have known Emma long before we went to University and she was always the kind one and thoughtful one out of our group. However after being in the same class for nearly 2 years I have noticed how organised and how well she retains knowledge weeks/months after we have had the lecture. Emma will surely become a great accountant or an important woman in business in the future.

ACS offered me a placement role back in 2018 as part of my University Degree. I continued my employment with the firm on a Part-Time basis throughout my final year at University and Full Time again since May 2020. My Key roles include making sure purchase orders show the correct value, making sure delivery tickets are entered correctly as well as the processing of purchase invoices onto the EQUE2 software – which I am currently in the process of completing a course for automatic recognition. Since being here I have had exposure to SAGE where I am responsible for disputing purchase invoices, matching supplier statements and also completing journal entries for payroll costs. I am now working towards finding better solutions to EQUE2 so that the system improves the financial control of the contracts. To do this I have trained Site Managers to complete their own delivery tickets on site using an app that links directly to my computer. This has then allowed me to manage the way they are entering them. There are many more responsibilities that I have taken on. For example, on top of my daily jobs I also aid the receptionist with phone calls. Before I joined ACS, I didn’t have much confidence and considered myself as a shy individual that has now changed thanks to the different responsibilities I have and also the support from my colleagues.

I worked for tesco part time whilst at university, I worked for two departments each week. Working for two aspects of the company has helped me improve on a lot of my skills. I worked on checkouts and price integrity. On checkouts I was responsible for being there for customers, making sure they have a good level of service. On price integrity I was responsible for making sure the legal labels are completed ready for the next day. During my time at Tesco I have developed many transferable skills such as communication, customer service, confidence and teamwork. An example of where I have shown teamwork is when completing the legal labels. The legal requirement is that the labels should be changed between 19:00 and 00:00, during busy times we could have up to 1500 legal labels to change, based on this as a team we allocated each other with labels for different areas of the store and working as a team and planning different areas we were then able to complete the legal labels before midnight resulting in a pass for the three of us.

When I was a crew member at McDonald's I would often complete crew trainer shifts. This would mean that I was responsible for new employees on job evaluations as part of their interview process. I would also complete shift maps where I would allocate other employees onto stations for busy times. whilst working at McDonald's a lot of skills were gathered here including teamwork, working under pressure, communication, leadership. an example of leadership was when I had to organise the team when we had a busy period in the restaurant. the task was to organise where people were stationed so that less experienced people had a runner getting the food whilst they took orders. The aim was to have an efficient system so that customers had their food on time with no long waits. The outcome was that the team worked well in the stations they were given and customers remained happy.
