Sep 2022 - Present
For my concentration practicum at the DV courts, I am completing 600 hours assisting victims of domestic violence as they file for orders of protection. As an advocate, I help with safety planning, conduct risk assessments, and connect survivors with community resources for further assistance. I serve as an advocate for victims in court as they navigate the legal process, and provide them with any information they need to be able to confidently exercise self determination and decide what steps are best for their own situation.
