Aug 2019 - Jan 2022
Senior Improvement Manager, leading a range of change and improvement projects and programmes across the Clinical Services Division. Working with clinical and managerial teams, identifying opportunities for improvement, developing change capability, leading and facilitating delivery of projects and programmes to improve efficiency, effectiveness and clinical / patient outcomes. • Developed and implemented use of Statistical Process Control (SPC) approaches with radiology data to reduce patient waiting times. Worked with the analytics team to specify and design a new reporting approach, integrating streams of SPC analyses. Led all elements of the management of change process, from developing a case for change through to staff engagement and communications, formal HR consultation processes, trades union liaison, and implementation into the new live service. • Led a project to address under-use of a new Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) unit. Undertook process, staffing and performance benchmarking reviews across 4 neighbouring Trust SDEC units, identifying a range of service change improvement options. Using groups of relevant staff, initiated and led a series of PDSA improvement pilots (e.g. nurse led streaming and enhanced phone referral management processes) to test, enhance and enable implementation of best practice improvements - leading to a significant increase in referrals to the SDEC unit of over 10% after only 2 PDSA pilot rounds.
