As Founder and President of Weiswood Strategies, I help colleges, universities, and other nonprofits achieve campaign goals through a holistic approach to communications assessment, strategy, and messaging. Successes include: ➡️ Producing a full suite of campaign communications for a college that reached its $225M goal more than a year early. ➡️ Helping a national start-up clarify and formulate mission and vision statements before writing their campaign case for support. ➡️ Writing a principal gift proposal that yielded $2M to fully endow a STEM program for low-income, underrepresented students. ➡️ Working with university leaders to increase endowment transparency in an annual report. At Weiswood Strategies, we deliver: Case Statements • Communications Plans • Major Gift Proposals • Campaign Websites • Campaign Videos • Impact Reporting • Stewardship Communications Join our past and current clients, including: American Medical Association Foundation, Dartmouth Health/Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, Drexel University, Haverford College, Jane Goodall Institute, Keck Graduate Institute, Lambda Legal, Mount Saint Mary's University, National Park Foundation, Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology, Swarthmore College, Tree of Life, and Vassar College. I took over advancement communications at Swarthmore just five months before the public launch of their $450M comprehensive campaign. With no time to spare, I identified and collaborated with internal and external partners to produce a case for support, website, video, and launch event. Over the next three years, I developed and executed strategic, creative, and coordinated multi-channel communications that supported all aspects of College Advancement. I served as the link between Communications and Advancement, ensuring that all donor communications resonated powerfully with the intended audiences and aligned with the strategic communications of the College. In addition to communications for the Swarthmore Fund, major gifts, planned giving, and donor relations, I also wrote remarks for President Valerie Smith when she appeared at regional campaign events, and major campus gatherings. Throughout my seven years at Haverford, I partnered with internal clients, vendors, and other colleagues to craft strategic messaging and distribution plans to increase giving and engagement from alumni, parents, and friends. I also wrote and edited print and digital collateral for Lives That Speak: The Campaign for Haverford, the Annual Fund and Parent Fund, gift planning, stewardship, alumni relations, and parent programs. The campaign reached its goal more than a year ahead of schedule. As the College's graphic identity manager, I was the point person for all things branding on campus. I maintained the visual style guide, ensured proper use of logos and wordmarks, and served on the College's signage committee. As the supervisor of the department's Publications Producer/Designer, I was able to ensure brand consistency across all internal clients' communications. Working in partnership with the AVP for Communications and design firm SDYM Inc., we redesigned the logo and wordmarks, developed a visual identity style guide, and deployed these resources across campus, educating the community about the importance of brand standards.
