I am currently working on the creation and assembly of a 3D printed prosthetic hand for a recipient. In the first year, almost all of the work had to be done virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After selecting the hand design and any other customisations, the prosthetic was scaled using images sent from the recipient in Blender. We have printed, assembled and sent off the first scaled prototype and will then be taking feedback from the recipient before we print and assemble the final prosthetic.

I played an active role in a small team to design and produce a cost effective wheelchair for a dog who suffered from severe arthritis. After creating a final prototype, we reached out to the local area to offer our design to local veterinary practices and other participants who were interested in our project.

I was part of the Education Team that would develop ideas to educate young people about 3D printing, engineering and prosthetics. I took part in CAD tutorials and visited primary schools where the children designed "bubble wands", which we then modelled in SolidWorks and printed to take back to the school for the children to enjoy.

I opened a successful small Etsy shop selling cotton face masks during the COVID-19 pandemic. I made the face masks myself and funded the shop on my own. I managed the shop throughout my third year of university studies. I opened a successful small Etsy shop selling cotton face masks during the COVID-19 pandemic.
