I have welcomed over 1000 guests to the 'Meet the Scientist' event at Liverpool's World Museum. I sign-posted families to various activity stands and collected their feedback. I worked alongside researchers by presenting exciting scientific content on the activity stands. I tailored my communication style to suit the audience present. Many different age groups attended the event; ranging from children to the elderly. I ensured that activities and presentations ran smoothly whilst coping with any scheduling changes. Show less

I worked with the content writer of A-Magazine and attended business meetings where I assisted in drafting quarterly goals for the company. I attended press events, client meetings and networking socials. I observed magazine content editing using Adobe packages. I helped plan and manage events before the release of the winter magazine issue. Through social events I began to build a network of contacts which I have maintained this year. I worked full-time in store performing clinical tasks such as prescreening patients prior to seeing the optician. I qualitatively interviewed customers obtaining information regarding their lifestyle to dicepher which eye wear may be best suitable e.g. prescription sunglasses, contactlenses, ski goggles. I also performed administrative tasks when booking in patients and ordering their glasses from the manufacturers. I was promoted to 'team leader' of my store for the trial of an IT development programme called 'Horizon' at Boots Head Office (Nottingham). I tested the computer software and attended meetings to report issues and suggest potential improvements. I managed contractors by keeping the software engineers on track by taking part in regular skype meetings and evaluating the progress of the project. Finally, i relayed information from head office back to the store in order to keep the in-store team members up to date with the progress of the project. Show less
