As an administrator in higher education and coordinator for the Leadership and Volunteer Center, my role was very diverse; I oversaw programming and curriculum with our 20,000 student population in civic engagement and leadership development. Creating experiential learning experiences like Alternative Spring Break, Seasons of Service, and Leadership Explorations was foundational to my position. I presented and taught for the Pre-College program with a variety of instructional strategies. Our center focused on High Impact Practices and assessment. My supervising experience involves a team of sixteen staff members: nine leadership consultants, five service-learning advocates, a graduate assistant, and a graduate intern. I coordinated Make a Difference Day, MLK Day of Service, and other service-learning events that focus on serving underserved communities. Our center believes students' character development is a vital part of education. -Develop experiential and inquiry based learning experiences -Create presentations and curriculum while doing pre-college presentations for K-12 classrooms and their teachers that come to our college campus -Provide advising, student organization resources, and service-learning opportunities to over 250 student organizations -Oversee budgets, train students and student employees, contractual work for all the Leadership and Volunteer Center's Speakers, coordinate JumpStart for over 200 students -Train Leadership Consultants on soft skill development presentations for 250 student organizations, resident halls, and club sports Show less
